A student happily shows off the glass suncatcher that she's just finished making

Copper foiled glass suncatchers for Christmas: two day course. £150 including all materials.

If you’d like to learn to make copper foiled stained glass Christmas decorations and suncatchers, you’ve come to the right place.

On  Thursday 20th & Friday 21st December we’re running a course perfect for beginners and those with a little experience, where you can make your own stained glass suncatcher- either a Christmas decoration or something you can display all year round.

We’ll teach you to cut glass safely and with confidence, then give as much guidance as you need while you create your very own design or copy one of ours. Use our wide variety of coloured and textured glass to bring your design to life! Our small class sizes mean that you’re sure to make a Christmas decoration or suncatcher to be proud of; it could become a family heirloom!

When your pieces are all cut and ground to shape, you’ll learn to apply the copper foil, before soldering all of the pieces together.

If you’re more experienced, you may like the challenge of something 3D; that’s an option too (but we don’t recommend it for a first project).

Please note: this course is not suitable for under 18s and anyone who’s pregnant, as the solder contains lead.

The sessions will run from 10am to 5pm both days, with a little flexibility around the finish times if necessary.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided both days.
