Weekly stained glass classes in Chilham- the alternative to Adult Education evening classes.

Dig out your old glass cutter and join us for some stained glass classes.

It’s that time of the year again. The children have gone back to school, the weeds are growing a bit more slowly and the weather’s cooling off. What better to do with your time than to take up a new hobby or rekindle an old one!

A bit about our classes.

Our small classes in a relaxed studio environment are perfect for brushing up your skills, making friends and enjoying a bit of company. With a maximum of six students, well maintained equipment including Glastar grinders, soldering irons, large lightbox, kiln and a dedicated leading bench you can be as ambitious or as small scale as you like.

Where are you?

We’re on the A252 in Chilham. Imagine a triangle drawn between Ashford, Faversham and Canterbury and we’re pretty much bang in the middle. Alternatively have a look for us here on Google Maps.

What do people make?

We’ve had students making life size copper foiled birds, people making leaded windows for their houses and glass appliqué (stained glass mosaic) panels for holiday apartments and everything in between!

Why not start early and make some Christmas decorations for yourself, for presents or to sell at craft fairs? Or how about some Tiffany style panels for a lantern, to cheer up the winter evenings? If you’re more adventurous, follow in the footsteps of the likes of Wendy, Barbara and others and treat your house to a new window!

Adult education glass classes don’t have to mean huge classes, long queues for equipment, coffee out of plastic cups and a battle for parking places. Come to Creative Retreats and Holidays instead!

When do the classes run?

Our evening classes in stained glass and glass appliqué (stained glass mosaic) run from 6.45pm to 9.45pm on Wednesdays (our glass fusing evening classes run at the same time on Tuesday evenings). Our daytime stained glass classes run from 11am to 2pm on Wednesdays (and again we run daytime glass fusing classes on Tuesdays). We don’t stick to school terms; the classes run all year round and you can start (and finish) when you want.

What do they cost?

Sessions cost £30 each (with free refreshments and free onsite parking) if you book a block of six or more and if you book a block of ten, you get an eleventh class free. As an added bonus, you don’t have to pay for weeks when you’ll be away. If you give us a week’s notice, you won’t get charged.

If you just need an extra session or two to finish something off, classes cost £35 each subject to there being space.
