Description
Fused glass cross in blue and pale cream glass set in a white frame. Symbolic of passing through the cross to get to God. This is a beautiful fused glass picture. It is an outline of a cross in blue and pale cream glass, held within a white frame with a transparent centre.
This piece was inspired by a moving Easter service held in St Martin & St Gregory’s Church in Wye, Kent. When the artist entered the church, she noticed that just inside the door the children had created a wall of large boxes stacked on top each other and left a cross-shaped gap in the middle. To enter the church, you had to ‘walk through the cross’, through the way made by the cross-shaped hole. This really struck home with the artist. She felt she was literally passing ‘through the cross’, to get to God.
Hopefully this art work will resonate with you too, or with the person who is fortunate enough to receive it from you as a gift.
This would be a wonderful housewarming, ordination or Easter gift.
