Description
Hand-crafted canal boat stained glass panel made by Gorgeous Glass Gifts in Chilham, Kent. This canal boat stained glass panel brings to mind relaxing holidays aboard a narrowboat on the canals or rivers of the UK. The canal boat is moored in the countryside as a skylark wheels high in the sky, out of sight but not out of earshot as it sings its heart out in hope of a mate. Spring is around the corner and soon the trees will be covered in new leaves.
The artist was inspired by a photograph she took on the River Weaver, near Frodsham in Cheshire, but it could be many places on the British canal network.
The artist painted the details in the panel with glass paint and which she then fired onto the glass in a kiln to make the paint permanent. The windows were hand engraved. Finally the eleven pieces of glass were assembled in lead came, soldered then polished before adding a sturdy to chain to hang the panel in your chosen place.  The panel is signed on the reverse by the artist.
The panel measures approximately 31cm wide x 25cm tall and comes with a removable hanging chain for ease of display.
The item will come carefully packaged and is posted using Royal Mail Tracked 48. You can upgrade to a quicker Royal Mail Tracked 24 service at checkout if preferred.
