Make your own stained glass for your home on a weekly stained glass course in Kent

Weekly stained glass evening classes, Wednesdays, 6.45 to 9.45pm, Q3-2024

Our weekly stained glass and stained glass mosaic classes are always very popular & some people continue coming for months or even years! Please therefore contact us if you’d like to join the class, to check whether there are currently spaces available or whether you’ll need to join our waiting list.  The classes take place in our spacious and airy Chilham studio from 6.45 to 9.45pm. (If you’re looking for daytime classes, look here. )

Who can come to your classes?

We welcome anyone over the age of 18, from complete beginners to people making a whole series of stained glass windows for their houses. If you’re a complete beginner with the ambition to make windows for your house, that’s not a problem either!

Please note that because lead is used both for leaded stained glass and for soldering “Tiffany” or copper foiled stained glass, this course isn’t suitable for anyone who’s under the age of 18 & / or pregnant, unless the whole group are only doing glass appliqué.

What can I learn?

You can learn to do copper foiled (Tiffany) glass, traditional leaded stained glass (lead lights) and / or glass appliqué. We occasionally have students combining fused glass and stained glass too, in the same window or panel; in this case you would need to bring your own Bullseye fusing glass.

When do your terms start?

Unlike traditional schools and colleges, we don’t have set term times, so you can start whenever you like, if there’s a space available. Classes are pretty flexible too. If you can’t make a session, give us at least a week’s notice and you won’t be charged for it. (You won’t get that in Adult Ed weekly stained glass classes!) Classes are £30 each for blocks of six or more; if you pay for a block of ten you get an eleventh class FREE.

How do I get there?

There’s free parking on site, a railway station & a bus stop within a mile (see “where are we?” on our “about” page for more details), well maintained equipment and free tea, coffee and biscuits. What more could you ask for?

How can I book a place on the course?

You can book a series of six or ten classes via the website, or if you’re not keen on paying online we can also take card payments over the phone or you can come round with cash.
