Weekend glass fusing retreat for beginners and improvers

Weekend glass fusing retreat – full fusing, kiln carving and tack fusing

10am – 5pm each day; £190 per person.

It’s been a heck of a year so far, so why not treat yourself to the perfect creative weekend.

There will be a maximum of four places on this “get away from it all” retreat, to ensure that there’s plenty of room for social distancing, so that everyone can feel comfortable. (It’s not designed to be a religious retreat, though there’ll be the opportunity to join a brief pause for midday prayer if you choose to.)

You’ll enjoy two days playing with float glass and then with Bullseye fusing glass  with the chance to explore full fusing, kiln carving and tack fusing.

You’ll be in a small group of between 1 & 4 people in our Kent studio, with a range of techniques and materials to try out.

Enjoy an in depth course in glass fusing, trying full fusing (for a smooth finish), kiln carving (to give an indented relief pattern) and tack (contour) fusing to create a piece of glass art with texture.

You’ll choose from a wide range of sheet glass, frit, stringers, confetti and our very own “funky frit balls”. You can make flat items, window hangings & / or 3D objects such as bowls or stand-up plaques. Things made the first day may be ready for you to take home on the second day. This depends if the kiln is cool enough to open though,  & isn’t guaranteed.

We will fuse your creations during and after your course. You can come back to collect them or we can post them to you (this typically costs around £7 depending on its size & weight).

Materials, refreshments and lunches are included; dichroic glass can be purchased if required. There are some lovely little B&Bs within walking distance in our beautiful village (if they’ve reopened by then). Why not make the most of summer in the Kent countryside and enjoy a creative weekend break with us. You’re worth it!
