stained glass mosaic workshop - here a panel is being designed on a lightbox in our Chilham glass studio

Stained glass mosaic taster workshop- no glass cutting needed

Sorry, but Ashford Borough Council have advised us that classes can’t restart until step 3 of the “release from lockdown”. Therefore the earliest that we’ll be able to open our doors for classes is 17th May.

We’ll be back…

Join us for a no-cutting-required stained glass mosaic taster workshop – perfect for beginners and improvers in glass art.

Make something beautiful whilst caring for the environment. Under 18s can join in too, if they’re happy handling sharp pieces of glass, don’t mind wearing a face covering and are accompanied by a responsible adult.

What’s stained glass mosaic?

It’s very similar to regular mosaic, but you use pieces of coloured glass of all shapes and sizes. These are stuck onto a background of clear glass, which lets the light shine through. The pieces of glass don’t need to fit accurately together, so it’s great for beginners and people with weak hands. If you’re a seasoned stained glass artist on the other hand, you’ll find it a brilliant way to use up your small offcuts of coloured glass.

What will I be able to make?

As a first go, you’ll be able to make a panel of between A5 & A4 in size or mosaic a mirror for a small extra charge, Alternatively you could make a candle cube instead, though you might need to do the final assembly at home, depending on time.

What’s included in the cost?

We supply everything that you need- materials, refreshments, lunch, on-site parking. Just bring yourself, perhaps a friend, some closed-in shoes, glasses if you need them and a smile!

Whether it’s your first time cutting glass or whether you’ve cupboards full of art glass waiting for a new use, come and join us.
