This stained glass mosaic picture of a hare gazing up at the sun will look great when it's finished. Here the pieces are being glued onto the glass backing.

Stained glass mosaic taster day- glass cutting optional

Join us for a stained glass mosaic taster day – perfect for beginners and improvers in glass art.

Make something beautiful whilst caring for the environment. Under 18s can join in too, if they’re happy handling sharp pieces of glass and are accompanied by a responsible adult.

What’s stained glass mosaic?

It’s very similar to regular mosaic, but you use pieces of coloured glass of all shapes and sizes. These are stuck onto a background of clear glass, which lets the light shine through. The pieces of glass don’t need to fit accurately together, so it’s great for beginners and people with weak hands. We’ll teach you to cut glass if you want to, but you can just use precut pieces if you prefer, which we have available in a huge range of shapes and colours.

If you’re a seasoned stained glass artist on the other hand, you’ll find it a brilliant way to use up your small offcuts of coloured glass.

What will I be able to make?

As a first go, you’ll be able to make a panel of between A5 & A4 in size or mosaic a mirror for a small extra charge, Alternatively you could make a candle cube instead, though you might need to do the final assembly at home, depending on time.

What’s included in the cost?

We supply everything that you need- materials, refreshments, lunch, on-site parking. Just bring yourself, perhaps a friend, some closed-in shoes, glasses if you need them and a smile!

Whether it’s your first time playing with glass or whether you’ve cupboards full of art glass waiting for a new use, come and join us.
