Leaded stained glass panels made on a two day course - a palm tree and a sailing boat

Leaded stained glass weekend course for beginners and improvers

Leaded stained glass weekend course for beginners and improvers, 10am to 5pm (approx.) each day; £190 per person

This is the perfect course if you’ve always fancied trying your hand at stained glass or if you’ve done it in the past and would like to have another go. Over the weekend you’ll learn (or brush up on) glass cutting skills, learn how to design a leaded stained glass panel, create your own design, choose & cut the glass and create your panel, ready to take home on Sunday afternoon.

What can I make?

You’ll get to design your own leaded light, up to A4 size, and then turn it into reality using our wide range of glass. You’ll make an artwork to be proud of; a family heirloom! People with previous experience can make something more advanced.

Bring some pictures (e.g. holiday photos or pictures of glass that you’ve admired) or design ideas for inspiration and be prepared to amaze yourself at what you can achieve with a bit of effort. All materials, lunches and refreshments are included.

Some people work at a faster pace than others; if it looks as though you’ll need a bit longer there will be the opportunity to stay for an extra hour on Saturday afternoon.

It is possible to start a more complex pane; (e.g. for a door or window) on this course & finish it at home or on our weekly classes. Please drop us a line or phone us if you have this in mind. Thanks.

Do you provide accommodation?

No, but there are some lovely B&Bs nearby (some within walking distance) and hotels in Canterbury, Faversham and Ashford.

I’m pregnant. Is that OK?

For you, that’s fantastic. Congratulations! However, it does mean that you need to avoid anything that uses lead, including stained glass courses. Why not join one of our glass fusing or stained glass mosaic courses instead? They’re lead free & perfectly fine for pregnant ladies.

Can I bring my children?

Yes, but only if they’re over 18. Under-18s shouldn’t work with lead, as their brains are still developing. They can come with you to a course in glass appliqué or glass fusing though.
