Students learn how to fuse glass on a kiln forming taster day

Glass fusing taster day

Glass fusing day; 10am to 5pm, £95 including materials, refreshments and lunch.

If you’d like to try warm glass, come and explore glass fusing in our Kent studio. Working first with float glass and then with Bullseye fusing glass, you’ll be able to make several pieces of glass art to keep. A generous quantity of materials, lunch and refreshments are included. Surprise yourself with what you can create!

Today’s course is great for anyone. No experience is needed; we’ll teach you to cut glass with confidence if you haven’t done it before. You’ll start by making your own design of panel from float glass, as it’s easy to cut.

Then you’ll be able to make several items using Bullseye fusing glass- coasters, small dishes, a colourful suncatcher – the choice is yours. The smaller they are, the more you can make.

If you’re an old hand, you’ll be able to try out new techniques. There’s always something new to try! Dichroic glass is also available to buy if you want to add extra “bling” to your fused creations.

Your glass will be fused (and slumped if you want to make something 3D such as a glass dish) after your course and can be collected or posted to you (this typically costs around £7 depending on its size & weight).
