Make this Mothers’ Day special with a glass fusing taster day to remember.

Instead of squashing into a packed pub or restaurant for lunch, with slow service and harried staff, bring your Mum to Chilham for the day instead. Explore glass fusing with us. Start by using float glass, which is super easy to cut. Then progress onto Bullseye fusing glass, in all shapes and colours. We will supply a generous quantity of materials, lunch and refreshments, all included in the price. You will surprise yourselves with what you can create! Artistic ability is useful but by no means essential.

If you’ve not played with glass before, don’t worry. We’ll soon have you cutting with confidence. You can even make something beautiful without cutting glass at all, so if your hands are weak, it needn’t be a problem. (We’ve had several visitors in their 80’s who’ve had a great time.)

We have a wide range of colourful sheet glass, frit, stringers (think “glass spaghetti”) and more. Come and be spoiled for choice.

If you’re an “old hand” with glass, come and try some different techniques that you’ve not explored before. You could try kiln carving, powder printing, working with inclusions… The day will pass in a flash; you certainly won’t get bored!

What can I make?

You can make coasters, small dishes, window hangings or even art for your garden. The choice is yours; the smaller the items, the more you can make.

Your glass will be fused after your course and can be collected or posted to you (this typically costs around £7 depending on its size & weight).
