Make lovely fused glass on a l=g 2 day glass fusing course

Weekend glass fusing experience, in the Kent Downs AONB. £230 per person

Join us for a weekend’s glass fusing experience in the Kent Downs area of outstanding natural beauty, near Canterbury.

What will I be able to do?

For only £230, on your glass fusing experience you’ll be able to:

Learn to cut glass with confidence, if you’ve not done this already.

Experiment with tack (contour) fusing for texture.

Try full fusing for a smooth surface – especially useful for coasters so that your glass doesn’t fall over!

Explore kiln carving– it’s easier than you might think.

Make something to be slumped into a 3D shape.

What’s included in the price?

The cost of the course includes use of all of the equipment that you’ll need (including loan of safety glasses but not your prescription specs!). It also includes glass, fusing and slumping, refreshments and lunches. Soap, water, paper towels, alcohol gel and free parking are of course included as well. Please bring your own face covering.

Materials for 3 – 4 medium pieces (e.g. dishes, wall hangings, soap dishes, coasters, candle holders) are included, or you might prefer to make more small items such as jewellery, keyrings, fridge magnets etc. If you have ambitions of making a larger piece of art, have a word with us first. If you don’t mind paying for the extra materials, we can probably accommodate you.

You’ll start with float glass, before moving on to work with Bullseye sheet glass, frit, stringers, frit balls, confetti, glass enamels and more in this two day glass fusing experience in the heart of the beautiful Kent Downs AONB. Your creations will be fused (and if desired, slumped into moulds) after your course and will be ready for collection or posting approximately 1 week later. (Post and packaging are charged at cost.)

Where are you?

Our purpose built glass art teaching studio is nestled in the Kent Downs area of outstanding natural beauty, in the medieval village of Chilham. We’re surrounded by beautiful countryside and the vineyard of Chateau Evremond, owned by Taittinger. Imagine drawing a triangle between Canterbury, Faversham and Ashford, and we’re pretty much in the middle!
