Join us for a special Fused Glass for Christmas course on Saturday 3rd December in our spacious Chilham studio near Canterbury. Whether snowmen and funky penguins are your thing or if you’re more into doves and nativity scenes, you’re equally welcome.

Come and explore warm glass with us, using both float glass and then Bullseye fusing glass. A generous quantity of materials, lunch and refreshments are included. You’ll impress yourself with what you can create! Artistic ability is useful but by no means essential.

If you’ve not played with glass before, don’t worry. We’ll teach you and soon have you cutting with confidence. You can even make something beautiful without cutting glass at all! We have a wide range of colourful sheet glass, frit, stringers (think “glass spaghetti”) and more. Come and be spoiled for choice.

What can I make?

On your Fused Glass for Christmas experience day, you could make decorations, gifts for friends and family, family heirlooms… Kiln carving will allow you to make festive coasters or a stand-up decoration, while tack fusing will let you make all sorts of fun decorations. The choice is yours; make several smaller items or perhaps a couple of bigger things.

Did someone mention festive nibbles and fizz?

Indeed! If you can bear to tear yourself away from the studio towards the end of the day, there’ll be a range of festive finger food and a choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic fizz to enjoy. The alcohol is strictly for after you’ve finished working with sharp pieces of glass though!

Can I take my creations home?

Yes, but not the same day. Your glass will be in the kiln for at least 24 hours- longer if you then want it slumped into something 3D such as a bowl or a stand-up curve.

Your glass will be fused after your course and can be collected or posted to you (this typically costs around £7 depending on its size & weight).
