a stained glass beginner completes the soldering of her snowdrop copper foiled suncatcher on our beginners' stained glass course

Copper foiled stained glass retreat weekend- the perfect getaway in the Kent Downs AONB

Join us for our two day copper foiled stained glass retreat weekend. Our bright and airy purpose built studio is in the beautiful medieval village of Chilham, nestled in the Kent Downs AONB near Canterbury.

What’s involved?

Over the two days you’ll learn to cut glass and shape it with grozing pliers and glass grinders. You’ll then make a glass suncatcher or panel, either using one of our designs or your very own bespoke design. If you have previous experience in stained glass, you could opt to make a 3D candle holder instead.

Under 18 or expecting a baby?

Please note that as the soldering involves lead solder, this retreat isn’t suitable for under 18s & / or anyone who’s pregnant. If this applies to you, you’re still welcome to come on a glass appliqué or glass fusing course or retreat.

What’s included in the price?

The cost of your two day copper foiled stained glass retreat includes refreshments and lunches both days. All of your raw materials are included too, together with laughter, good company and as much help & guidance as you need. There’s free parking on site as well, & we’re within a mile’s walk of Chilham railway station.

Choose and book your own accommodation, to suit your budget. There are a number of options nearby, from big hotels such as Eastwell Manor a short drive away, to B&Bs, self-catering rentals,  and (for the hardy) a nearby caravan club campsite. See our “where to stay” page for some nearby options that we’ve checked out ourselves. Please note that this is not included in the cost of the course.
